Sister Districts Project (SDP) is a national grassroots organization that is seeking to flip red/purple seats to blue on the state and federal level by channeling blue energy to red/purple districts.  In 2017, SDP focused on those state races that were both strategic and winnable. In Washington State, LD 45 had been identified by the state Democratic party as a race to support and SD help elect Democrat Manka Dhingra.
