Climate Strike, Fri, Sept 27, 11:30 am to 1 pm, Anacortes High School, more
- This event has passed.
Regarding the Global Climate Strike, the Green Club students at Anacortes High have decided not to strike, rather for an “action” in the cafeteria. They have asked for support with a rally outside the high school, 19th and K, Anacortes, 11:30-1 pm on September 27th
Extinction Rebellion (XR) Anacortes is organizing a rally. You may have read about XR shutting down all 5 bridges crossing the Thames in London, but there will be no civil disobedience at this event.
Some adult Skagit leaders from a wide variety of organizations have been contacted via Facebook, some via email. Our flyer is attached, please help us spread the word, and let us know if there are people we should be sure to invite.
We especially welcome people from the Latinx community and Tribal Communities and we hope you will step forward to guide us at the rally. Other than you, our intention is to keep the mike for youth to speak.
Please feel free to contact us,

SAVE THE DATE: we strike on the 27th. There will be a midday event in Anacortes (more info coming soon) and then we will carpool to Blaine, WA where the Lummi Nation has called for action by land and sea to protest Trans Mountain.
If you can help with sign-making and/or guerrilla art between now and then, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
